- U.S. – China Information Communication Technologies (ICT) Standards and Conformity Assessment Workshop
The sixth information and communications Technology (ICT) Standards and Conformity Assessment Seminar will be held and will allow U.S. and Chinese Government and private sector representatives to share their experiences on a number of different topics. Among others, this year’s seminar topics will include:
1. China’s restrictions on hazardous substances (RoHS);
2. standards development and the innovation cycle;
3. how to participate in China’s industry association standards development; and,
4. new developments in the U.S. and China in the conformity assessment field.

- Standards in Trade (SIT) Workshop on Transportation Technology Standards for Chinese Officials
The SIT Workshop on Transportation Technology Standards for Chinese Officials will address the role of
standards, conformity assessment, and regulations in transportation technology specifically addressing
Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC),
Advance Traffic Management Systems (ATMS), system control systems, and public transportation (transit).
SIT Workshops are a major activity of the Global Standards and Information Group(GSIG) in the Standards Services Division (SSD) – National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST), U.S. Department of Commerce. The workshops are designed to provide timely information to foreign standards officials on U.S. practices in standards and conformity assessment. Participants are introduced to U.S. technology and principles in metrology, standards development and application, and conformity assessment systems.
