The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) provides information on all current federal-level regulations (including technical regulations) and can be searched by keyword, subject, or regulatory agency.

There are two commonly used methods for using the online CFR:

• Quick Search
• Browse and/or search by CFR title

 Visit the CFR to search for federal-level technical regulations.

To perform a Quick Search:

• Go to http://www.gpoaccess.gov/cfr/index.html

• Enter any keyword, subject, regulatory agency to search
• Select  Search Tips for guidance on how to find the most accurate search results

• Browse Search Results
• Select to view a full text version (.txt), a full PDF version (.pdf), or a Summary (.txt) of the CFR notice

To browse/search by CFR title:

• Go to http://www.gpoaccess.gov/cfr/index.html

• Select  Browse and/or search the CFR

• Select any relevant CFR titles and dates

• Enter search terms (e.g. keyword, subject, or regulatory agency)
• Select any volumes to search
• Select  Submit

• Browse Search Results
• Select icon to view a full text version (.txt), a full PDF version (.pdf), or a Summary (.txt) of the CFR notice
