Organizational Overview
IPC (www.IPC.org) is a global industry association based in Bannockburn, Ill., dedicated to the competitive excellence and financial success of its 3,700 member companies which represent all facets of the electronics industry, including design, printed board manufacturing,
electronics assembly and test. As a member-driven organization and leading source for industry standards, training, market research and public policy advocacy, IPC supports programs to meet the needs of an estimated $2 trillion global electronics industry.
IPC maintains additional offices in Taos, N.M.; Washington, D.C.; Atlanta, Ga.; Stockholm, Sweden; Moscow,

Scope of Standards Developing Activity
IPC develops standards for the following product scopes:
- Design, process and acceptability standards for electronics, including printed boards, electronics assemblies, flexible circuits, cables, and printed electronics.
- Standards for materials used in above products.
- Standards for the transfer of data between designers and manufacturers.
- Standards for the board and assembly supply chain, including materials declaration and manufacturer and assembly qualification profiles.
- Standards for the board and assembly supply chain, including materials declaration and manufacturer and assembly qualification profiles.
- Standards for OEM critical components, such as air movement devices and power conversion.

Many companies in Europe rely on IPC standards for design, manufacture, acceptability and test of printed boards and assemblies. Selected documents are now available in Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Polish,
Romanian, Russian, Spanish and Swedish. IPC has 23 distributors across Europe to assist companies find and use the right standards.
There are 33 official IPC training centers in Europe offering certification programs on acceptability of boards, assemblies and cable/wire harnesses and PCB design. Programs are available in local languages. In addition, many IPC
training materials are available in French, German, Russian, and Spanish.
